Nick began his athletics career with City of Stoke Athletics Club after early successes at both swimming and football. He was crowned England junior 60m hurdles champion in both 2003 and 2004.
After graduating from Staffordshire University, he made a winning senior England debut at Cena Slovenska International meeting in Bratislava and convincingly won the England under-23 title in 2007.
In 2011 Nick won the England Senior Championship gold in the 110 metre hurdles.
In 2013 Nick had his most successful season winning two bronze medals at the Great Britain Indoor Championships and Great Britain outdoor Championships and won at Nivelles European Athletics Permit meeting running 13.72 seconds.
